Removal of two sliding patio doors and conversion to JELD-WEN fiberglass French doors with full-lite glass. The project included removal of a small amount of rotted framing at one of the doors, installation of a waterproof sill pan, spray foam insulation, and new Craftsman style exterior and interior trim.

Interior and exterior finish carpentry included new casing, molding, exterior trim, and modern square-style lock sets.

Porch Deck Transformation • Vancouver, WA

Trex composite porch deck rebuild by Action Craftworks LLC in Vancouver, WA, wide view

This project restored access to the house front door by removing a rotted and dangerous porch and replacing it with a modern Trex porch deck, complete with composite boards, steps, fascias, post sleeves, caps, rails and balusters. This also was a great opportunity to enlarge the prior porch surface area to create a usable space for sitting and potted plants.

The new square concrete pavers with crushed gravel between them allows rain water and overflow water from the faucet and hose to quickly percolate into the ground. The hexagonal stepping stones were salvage from between the driveway and prior porch, and provides access to the other side of the house.
